Being a Mamandla fellow means that my role in society has just become bigger, the promised growth of the fellowship will enable me to lead with caution, create lasting environments for mother’s to fully embrace their Mothership role despite the difficulties of raising a special needs child.
I am most passionate about environmental rights and the rights of women and children, and enjoy putting together advocacy projects that translate complex legislation into palatable information to spark active citizenship and better the lives of women and children.
Becoming a Mamandla Fellow holds profound significance for me. It means joining a community committed to empowering and supporting mothers during their early motherhood journey. It’s an opportunity to amplify my impact, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and contribute to positive change on a broader scale.
As a Mamandla Fellow, I find profound significance in engaging with a community of passionate women dedicated to uplifting and holding space for mothers. It offers me a platform to share my ideas on how best to serve women, amplifying my advocacy and fostering meaningful connections within the maternal support community.
Wherever my interest lies I have been gifted with the desire to create solutions and remedies.
Being a Mamandla fellow means committing myself into being the backbone for mothers who need support in dealing with challenges of motherhood. It means getting on the ground, collaboratively working with mothers, empowering them to improve their lives.
Being a Mamandla Fellow/Alumni means everything to me – it represents a community of strong women driving social change and advocating for mothers’ rights. As a Mamandla Fellow, I’m committed to continuing my work and amplifying marginalized voice.
Context matters, and it is hard to advocate for issues of the mind while mothers are struggling with more immediate needs such as safety, food, shelter and other physiological needs.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with others and learning from them.
I have worked with caregivers for almost 10 years. I am excited about being Mamandla Fellow because I will join hands with other women supporting mothers across the country.
